Cancellation of an EMCS procedure
The cancellation of an e-AD is only foreseen in advance of a movement of the excise goods. The cancellation notice must be sent electronically via EMCS. The documents stored there must be used for this. The cancellation will then be transmitted to the competent main customs office. There, the information is checked automatically. If there are no complaints, the result of the test will be communicated to the consignor.
Cancellation notification also to recipients
The cancellation notification shall also be sent by the competent Hauptzollamt to the addressee of the excise goods, provided that he holds a tax warehouse or is a registered consignee – and thus an active part of the EMCS procedure.
